Wyoming's Treasuretrove: Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park (YNP) is only 4 hours away from Wyoming Indian Elementary School www.fremont14.k12.wy.us. YNP www.nps.gov/yell/ was the first national park in the U.S. Visitors can see bison, elk, moose, wolves, black bear, grizzly bear, bighorn mountain sheep and raptors all over the park. The famous geyser, Old Faithful is found in YNP and erupts about every hour. In 1988, lightning struck and caused a huge fire that burned 1/3 of the park. Animals feel safe there because no hunting is allowed. Do not leave human food out where bears can get to it. "A fed bear is a dead bear."

People like to be outdoors in YNP. They hunt, camp fish, hike, canoe, take pictures, visit hot springs and geyers, snowmobile and ski.
