Mammoth Cave is famous because is the biggest cave in the world. Mammoth Cave was used between 2000 and  4000 years ago by Native Americans.However the first European discovery of Mammoth Cave is believed to have been in 1797, by Robert Houchins ,who was apparently pursuing an injured bear he was hunting.It is made by water erosion as it passes through the limestone.William Pallard discovered  Mammoth Cave in 1791.
