Wyoming Indian Chiefs and Lady Chiefs

We rock in basketball at Wyoming Indian. The boy's team may be small (average 5'10") but they can jump and run. Many of them run cross country or play football in the fall so they're in good shape when the basketball season comes. The girl's team is also small in height but can play with anyone.
For us basketball is our life and our future. Many of us start playing very young and hope that basketball will take us to college and maybe to the NBA.

In 2004, a movie called "Chiefs" was made to honor the former players, celebrate the young players and show the effect that basketball has made on the Wind River Reservation.

  1. Mrs. Rogers just added the movie Chiefs to her Netflix DVD queue. I will let you know how I like it! How exciting to have a movie made after your school team. Basketball is an important sport for our town as well. So is football. I'm not going to talk about it much because one of my student groups will be writing about it in detail for you. However, I will say that we are called the Montgomery County Indians and our colors are red, white, and blue.
