Our state language is English,and it was adopted in 1984.Our state motto is United We Stand Divided We Fall.Our state bird is the Cardinal.Cardinals look really pretty with their bright red feathers on snowy days! Our state fossil is the Brachiopod.Our state butterfly is the Viceroy.Our state wild animal is the Gray Squirrel.Our state horse is the Thoroughbred and you can see plenty of them - especially around Derby time.Our state fish is the  KY spotted bass.Our state fruit is the blackberry.Our state tree is the tulip poplar, and right now, tulip poplar trees are a beautiful yellow.Our state flower is the goldenrod.Our state drink is milk.Our state nickname is the Bluegrass state.Our state residents are the Kentuckians.
