Pictures from our home

Mrs. Rogers has had her faithful camera out again, and has taken some pictures from a Sunday drive around her home - the area known as Red River Gorge. We have a post about the gorge in which you can read a little about it, but I thought you might enjoy seeing some primary source pictures.

Driving through the gorge - had to stop and take this lovely picture

in the valley

There are lots of springs like this coming out of the mountains. In some places, this is the only drinking water people may have unless they drive to town. The water company will tell you this water is not safe to drink, but people have been drinking it for generations. It is always clear and cold. And yes......Mrs. Rogers has had a drink from several of these springs on hot summer days : )

There are lots of large rock outcroppings such as this in the Red River Gorge

See the hiker and his dog?

Kentucky farm - I think this horse is a breed called the Rocky Mountain

Mist on the mountains

The building in the back is the remains of an old one room school house that my husband's relatives attending as children.
